Laval cat killer sought by SPCA after dead kitten found

The Montreal SPCA is looking for the public’s help to catch a cat killer in Laval after the discovery of the body of a mutilated kitten on Belcourt Crescent in the Duvernay district.

Alanna Devine, the SPCA’s director of animal advocacy said the SPCA has confirmed through autopsies that two other cats found on Belcourt Crescent have been poisoned in the last year and a half. She also said SPCA investigators are tracking reports of bodies of other cats spotted in the area. Devine said there are some people living on the street who are feeding and caring for colonies of feral cats. She said it’s possible that someone upset with that practice is taking it out on the cats.

She said they’re hoping to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard something suspicious in the area.
